In recent years we have continually witnessed our brothers and sisters in Ghana, Togo and Ukraine face greater and greater obstacles.
When Ukraine was invaded, our hearts broke and mourned. At first it seemed like we could not do anything to help, but in a matter of days we were able to create a Crisis Fund and your outpouring of love for House of Mercy has been incredible.
In Ghana and Togo, we receive messages daily of how their families are suffering from extreme inflation. The average Ghanian pastor nets 220 Cedis per month. Here are some of their typical expenses:
Rent: 100-150 Cedis
Water: 40 Cedis
Power: 70 Cedis
Fuel for cooking: 20-30 Cedis
…before the pastor and his family has purchased food, their expenses are already greater than what he makes. The above numbers were from Jan 2022. In the past months, inflation has increased 40%; the cost of one loaf bread is now about 9.5 Cedis. A single loaf of bread costs over 4% of a pastor’s monthly wages. As neighbours, Togo is also facing the same extreme inflation, with no foreseeable end in sight.
In all things we lift up in prayer and in some things we can also take action.
Be a part of the ongoing work in Ghana, Togo and Ukraine by becoming a CIM Partner!
Your commitment of $10 or more per month would be set aside so that instead of reacting to emergencies, CIM can be ready and equipped to dispatch help immediately. By providing vital financial aid, we enable our brothers and sisters to not just survive, but thrive and be able to continue proclaiming the hope and love of Jesus.
Any amount per month would be appreciated but as a starting suggestion of $10, it works out to be just over 30 cents a day. Let’s put our pocket change towards changing lives.
As a CIM Partner, you will receive an additional monthly email from our Executive Director, Pastor Isaac of the latest news and updates in each ministry area. As well, you will be invited to join us and other CIM Partners for a quarterly prayer meeting.
We are so grateful that you are a part of the CIM community. We know that there are prayer warriors and supporters from across the globe and it is so good to know that no matter the distance, we are united in Christ.
