Introducing Kim Uong, Board of Director
Hi, my name is Kim Uong, I live in Montreal, Quebec with my wife Florence and her aging mother. Beside currently owning a restaurant with my wife, I also do some sideline investments and crypto as well. In my free time, I enjoy studying, reading and playing music. I am privileged to function acceptably in 4 languages: French, English, Chinese and Vietnamese.
I’m Chinese born Vietnamese. After the end of the civil war in Vietnam, my family and I found asylum in Montreal, Canada in 1979. As refugees, my family and I began to rebuild our life from the ground.
After becoming a Christian in the 90’s, I was drawn to mission fields mainly thanks to my cross culture back ground and an insatiable desire to learn and share the love of Jesus to the nations. In yesteryear, after having participated in various short term mission trips with different churches and organizations, I had an opportunity to team up with CIM for a TOGO short term mission in 2019.
This CIM – TOGO short term mission trip was a meaningful experience for me in a number of ways; namely thru sessions I could lead, share and exchange my business background with many people. It was so enriching for me and the participants for the pressing challenges and burning issues on the ground in their contexts. In my case, the whole trip with CIM was well organized and cared for. It was a successful achievement to share the Gospel and reach out to the yet-to-be-believers. My trip ended on a high note thanks to the fact that I came into contact with different CIM people and staffs during and after my trip. It was lovely. Thank God!
Along my Christian journey, I’ve been quite fortunate to take part in various volunteer positions in multiple churches for small groups, Worship, Hospitality, Board of Directors, Board of Elders etc. And in 2024, when I was approached and invited to join the Board of Directors of CIM, I accepted without hesitation and am thankful to be counted among the trustworthy and faithful.
I sincerely looking forward to working with the CIM staff, the Board of Directors and also welcoming more people to be part of CIM who are wanting to share the love and life of our Lord Jesus. To actively involve financially as regular donors, as volunteers, and also take part as directors.
Stay Gold in Christ.
Love you all.
Kim Uong

Pray With Us:
Please continue to pray for peace in Ukraine. The invasion rages on and innocent lives are lost each day. Pray for House of Mercy as they take care of refugees, physically and spiritually. Pray for peace talks and for a ceasefire. There has been much confusion regarding this process.
Pray for guidance and direction for our next steps for our Roma Ministry. Pray for the planning of sending a STM team to North Macedonia and Serbia in September.
Pray for the pastors and teachers that we support in Ghana. Pray for fruitful ministry and God’s provision for each pastor’s family needs. Pray for a peaceful resolution for the situation in Nkwanta.
Pray for Janice in Ghana as she continues with her ministry as our International Worker in Ghana. Pray for the STM team from First Alliance Church that will travel to Ghana in April. Pray for the planning of her home assignment in Canada from June-September.
Pray for Pastor Isaac’s trip to Australia in April as he speaks at various churches in the Sydney area to update and promote CIM Ministries.
Pray for the finances of CIM Ministries. The economic situation in Canada may become very unstable with the uncertainty of a tariff trade war with the United States resulting possibly with less donors. Pray for new donors and a healthy general fund to run our ministries. In order to run our ministries effectively, we are currently seeking monthly donors. We encourage donors to give to our General Fund so we can distribute the funds where the needs are the greatest. Click here to donate.
Pray for CIM USA as they are still looking for an Executive Director and Director of Ministry.
